The stars were out to play on the red carpet of the 57th Grammy Awards. Old favourites, controversial artists and newcomers joined together for a night of musical honours, from Sam Smith to Beyoncé, Rita Ora to rocker Kelly Osbourne.

Gowns were elegant, more traditional and darker in tone than we’ve seen in many years, and it was hard to put a foot out of place. Beyonce was a vision in a fill length black lace gown, which flouted into a long circular train. Sisters and indie girl-group HAIM stunned in Chloe, opting for a more edgy, androgynous look.

One of the highlights of the red carpet was the never-disappointing Madonna, who appeared in head-to-toe sequins and beads, complete with fishnets and her signature black cropped gloves.
Imagine the paparazzo’s surprise when they got a little more than they bargained for, with images captured of Madge cheekily flashing the crowd, and very amused bystander:
Taking to the stage shortly after, Madonna wowed the crowd inside, singing ‘Living For Love’.
