Prah-de-daa: Bows, frills and clichés @ Prada
Ra-ra black and white lace frills on dresses, clinched waists, voluptuous 50s style dresses and coats with underwire pleats to frame the chest created a look that was va va voom.
It was pure ‘Mad Men on Viagra’ with demure cocktail dresses, capri pants and twinsets combined with PVC pencil skirts, shiny belts that matched the handbags swinging from models’ arms, finished off with knee-high cheerleader socks, bee-hived hair and cats eye glasses.
Maison Moschino and the Jet Set
We joined the Jet Set next at the new hotel Maison Moschino where champagne flowed, Pixie Lott belted out tunes and, with a great sense of humour, models appeared taking on the personas and wardrobes of the characters we can expect to see around the hotel.
There was the saucy French maid in her designer dusting get-up; there was the rock chic with her studded jacket; a movie star in a pink satin dress with oversized romantic rosette covering her entire chest and fur stole draped around her shoulder; cool kids in Khaki pants, and the jet setter dragging her small luggage.
With a great sense of ironic and expensive humour, there was even a ‘Kelly girl’, whose head wear was a very expensive Kelly bag. Chic but not cheap. Perhaps Hermes will repay the compliment by using Moschino bags as footwear for their show…?
