A new book by the brilliant Peter Temple, the Australian crime writer who has won the world’s biggest crime writing prize, the Duncan Lawrie Dagger.
In this novel, Inspector Stephen Villani battles the bureaucracy and apathy inherent in the police force to find the murderer of a vulnerable young woman in a swanky high rise apartment. However he gets into deep water when it appears that the murderer may be one of the force’s own. With brilliant characterisation and dialogue unlike any you’ll read elsewhere, Temple truly does write a crime novel for the thinking person. If you love this, you’ll also love his previous title, The Broken Shore.
