Today the fashion pack has most definitely settled into the groove out here at Carriageworks. Street style outside, fashion inside and the buyers selecting what pieces they want to carry in their stores for the coming season, around the world.
So what trends are we looking at? Yesterday we looked at lace and today? Well it’s clear as a blue sky what colour we will be wearing next summer. The catwalk this week has been awash with all shades of blue.
Pastel tones, denim notes, bold cornflower hues with the all season favourite, navy this is one summer warmer we will be wearing from the shores of our beaches to the most glamourous of events.
There isn’t a rule to wearing blue. There is a blue tone to suit every skin tone so as long as you find the right one. If navy isn’t your friend opt for a pastel shade and experiment , you can start investing in these pieces right now knowing you are safe for the next few seasons to come.
Todays highlights were a plenty. Dion Lee’s Line II collection featured oversized shirting, relaxed suiting with subtle pin striped features. Bianca Spender presented a collection fit for a lady. She really does capture the essence of a woman and designs for us perfectly. Chic dresses incorporating features such as a metallic print, a sheer panel or a cut out and in my eyes she’s the queen of the perfect cigarette pant. Jayson Brunston took us to Rio with a metallic infused collection. From short dresses to a backless gown he captured the party spirit perfectly.
