Forbes has released their top earners under 30, with at least half of the top ten under 25 years old and 9 out of the 10 top earners being young musicians.
Headlining the list, it seems serial brat Justin Beiber has had the last laugh, earning an estimated $80million (AUS$93million). It’s been a year since Justin released his last album, Journals, but the controversial headliner maker, raked in the majority of his earnings after he finished up his second concert tour, Believe in December 2013 which collected $69.9m from 67 shows.
The singer is reportedly set to collaborate with Australia’s equivalent to the Biebs, Cody Simpson, for an album of duets that is soon to be released.
Oscar wining actress, Jennifer Lawrence is the only actor on the list, coming in at number 7.
Five-piece teenage heart-throbs, One Direction, made up by Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson are not stopping anytime soon with the barely legal boy band coming in at number 2. Their latest album, Midnight Memories, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and the song Story Of My Life went multi-platinum. The also scooped the pool at the American Music Awards for artist of the year, favourite band, duo or group and favourite album for Midnight Memories.
Taylor Swift flies the flag for female entertainments coming in at number 4 with $64million in earnings. The 24-year-old’s latest album 1989 sold 1.287 million copies in one week, marking the single largest sales week for one album since 2002, when Eminem’s The Eminem Show moved just over 1.3 million copies.
At 29, Bruno Mars just squeezed onto the list in fourth place with $60million. Rihanna rounds off the top five with an estimated $48million.
