February’s Full Moon eclipse takes place on February 1 at 12 Leo at 12.26am. Astrologer, Yasmin Boland shares why you shouldn’t fear the eclipse.
It’s another eclipse month! Hot on the heels of the Full Moon eclipse on the last day of January or first date of February (depending on where you are in Australia – I talked about it here last month), mid-February brings a New Moon eclipse.
Eclipses are the times when the Universe changes gears. If you want to make a change in your life, then an eclipse month is an ideal time to do it – especially a New Moon eclipse month.
So think about now what you want for yourself in the year ahead. We are still only at the very start of the year, so if you have already fallen off your New Year’s resolutions promises, use the New Moon eclipse to recommit to your dreams and goals. It’s actually never too late to recommit, each monthly New Moon is a perfect time to do it – but the first New Moon eclipse of the year is a good time plus plus!

AREN’T ECLIPSES MEANT TO BE SCARY?
It’s true that back in ye olde days, people feared eclipses, especially partial and total eclipses of the Sun which they could see. They took place with no notice and the skies would grow dark, the birds would stop chirping and the dogs would howl … thereafter people would blame anything bad which happened on “that fateful day when the skies went dark…”
These days, we know exactly when eclipses are going to take place and we know they are nothing to fear. However most modern astrologers will tell you that they bring a chance to do something differently.
Imagine that you are here on earth with some kind of life purpose. Now imagine that your ego go in your way and you went off track and you need to get back on track. That’s when an eclipse is really handy. Sometimes what happens at the time of an eclipses can indeed feel a bit sudden and even shocking. And it’s true to say that sometimes what happens at the time of an eclipse can feel like a bolt from the blue. But more often that not, it’s the bolt you know you needed to have, it’s about the tie you knew you needed to sever, about the change you knew was required. Eclipses nearly always work out for the best, even if they are a bit intense at the time.
