Calling all entrepreneurial ladies, this just in…
Applications are officially open for Wellington based Lightening Lab XX – New Zealand’s first ever female-founder business accelerator. Holding true to the nature of the business, the launch date will kick off on International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2016. The exciting new programme is the first of its kind for Australasia.
As it stands, only 18 percent of the top twenty startups worldwide have a female founder, however, studies have shown that teams with at least one female founder perform better and generate overall higher returns.
The new programme aims to provide the right environment for female founders to thrive through the challenge of starting a company, while also feeling supported by their surroundings – a diverse entrepreneurial group of world-class roles models, coaches and mentors.
Lightning Lab is run by CreativeHQ, Wellington’s startup base and a unit of the Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency (WREDA). To date it has helped more than 45 ventures accelerate their business and attract over $8M in seed capital.
Applications for the programme close December 18th, 2015 – for more information and to find out the requirements to apply click here
