Caffeine Free Way of Boosting Your Energy

Be it Summer or Winter, who wouldn’t want a boost of energy? Whip out the frozen banana and blend up a healthy smoothie — it will give your body a buzz of energy without the caffeine, help your immune system thrive through cold and flu season, and push your digestive system in the right direction.

These two recipes from Sally Obermeder’s recently released book Super Green Smoothies hold within a powerhouse of nutrients that will see you on route to pure health, endurance and happiness.

Flat Belly Juice

Serves 1

Ingredients

45 g (1 cup) baby spinach
1/4 avocado peeled and stone removed
15 g (¼ cup) broccoli florets
1 frozen banana
Large handful of mint leaves
3 raw almonds
1 teaspoon coconut oil 250 ml
(9 fl oz/1 cup) almond milk
1 teaspoon stevia, to taste

Method

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Mango Magic Smoothie

Serves 1

Ingredients

90g (2 cups) baby spinach
1 frozen banana
185g (1 cup) chopped mango
250ml vanilla almond milk or soy milk

Method

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
