Need a few healthy lunchbox options that will keep the kids smiling from the inside out?
Sometimes the same lunchbox routine gets a little repetitive, and the same items come back religiously – and we’re all familiar with the treats being eaten and the healthy options getting left behind.

Did someone say empty lunchbox? Why yes, yes we did!
1. Quiche
Are your kids sick of sandwiches? Quiches are the perfect way to sneak in the little ones daily serving of vegetables at the same time as mixing up the lunchbox routine. Grated carrot, zucchini and mushroom can be used, mixed with cheese in the mixture– kids won’t realise the tasty lunch is actually healthy!
2. Healthy snacks
Essentials for school lunches, I love packing my kids hummus to Go a carrot and capsicum sticks, they are quick and convenient to pop in.
3. Porridge for recess
If the kids are porridge fans, why not pack them some for morning snack, for a bit of a treat and a break from the routine. While making your morning porridge, pack some in a thermos to take along with them – Add some frozen berries (heated) instead of brown sugar to keep it a nutritionally balanced snack.
4. Soup
What better way to keep kids warm than a toasty soup or casserole. Pack a thermos full of a nice healthy homemade soup or casserole (one pot wonders are an absolute life saver). Or take the kids to the shops and let them pick a few of their favourite flavours.
5. Fun shapes
Whether you are jazzing up a standard sandwich, getting creative with your new quiche recipes or you have just made biscuits, kids love fun shaped foods and a snow flake cookie cutter is perfect to get into the winter spirit.
