Read this if you’re thinking of implementing the chocolate ban on the little miss and mister.
This latest healthy treat from cleanKIDS is exactly what the Friday afternoon doctor ordered. Entertain away!
Seeds are a powerhouse of nutrition – rich in minerals (magnesium, manganese, selenium, zinc, iron); vitamins (Bs, folate, E), protein, fibre and essential fatty acids – so they are a great food for kids. These bite size snaps are thin and crispy with just enough chocolate to keep it all together. Totally yum, and super quick to make – just make sure you wait till they are set!
Chocolate Seed Snap Recipe
1/2 cup pumpkins seeds
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
(Optional: 1/4 cup dried fruit/berries)
3 tablespoons raw cacao powder
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- Melt the coconut oil and stir in the cacao and maple syrup.
- Once liquid, remove from heat and add the seeds (and fruit if using). Stir to completely coat the seeds with the chocolate sauce.
- Pour mixture onto baking paper and spread out till quite thin.
- Pop in the fridge for 15 mins or so to set. Cut into bite size pieces once set.
Store in the fridge – if there are any left.
