GEMINI

You have Saturn in your Relationships Zone so partnerships of any kind can be taxing now. One relationship which feels like a burden could start to change shape or start to generate new feelings this month, though. Saturn in your Love Zone is connecting to unpredictable Uranus on May 19 so the whole month will lead up to that. If, over the recent past, you have started to realise how much someone matters to you (or contrariwise how much YOU matter), this is the time when you could start to make some changes in your relationship life, based on this newly acquired wisdom.

INFORMATION FOR ALL THE SIGNS

May is potentially a month of change. There is a major stand-out planetary link promising that hard work can finally pay off in quite exciting ways.

So wherever you have been putting your attention lately, this is the time for you to actively look for signs of profit and reward, so to speak.

It might not come in the form of actual finances, but it could.

It could also be a non-financial reward for kindnesses or services you have done to others, and/or for efforts you have made in other parts of your life, including connected to love, friendship, health, family and anything else.

The reason to start looking for the rewards is because looking for them, expecting something good to come this month, will actually help it to come. It’s the law of attraction. We get what we expect deep down, for better or worse!

So think about where your hard work in any part of your life at all can now pay off. Look for signs that’s happening. Could just as easily be your hard work in the garden as your hard work in an office!

And if you haven’t been making much of any effort with anything lately, it’s time to decide if you want to go on that way or if having a few goals could make life more interesting.

The changes which could happen this month are tied to a rare and positive link between planetary heavyweights Saturn (hard work) and Uranus (exciting turnarounds).

Remember to make a wish on the New Moon on May 26. State your intentions to the Universe (and/or to a trusted friend!)

THERE COULD BE UPSETS…

Know that – for all the signs – the first week of May could be somewhat dramatic thanks to a clash between Saturn and Chiron on May 1. Saturn is the planet of hard lessons and things we didn’t want to know about. Chiron is aka the Wounded Healer – when Chiron is triggered, pressure points get pushed, boundaries are drawn and people do sometimes get hurt, hopefully just before they get healed. So if life is tough for you as May is beginning, chances are you a feeling the power of this link. Note that this is a part of the ongoing two plus years Saturn in Sagittarius cycle which ends this December.

We all have lessons to learn wherever Saturn is in our chart. So here is info for you about where Saturn is in your chart:

How’s your love life? Saturn is now in your love zone. Yes, Saturn is the one of the more-difficult-to-deal-with planets, but he teaches lessons and lessons are what helps us to evolve, no? But let’s also be astro-frank. Does your relationship feel turgid, confining, restrictive or controlling? If you can answer yes to any of these, Saturn moving into your opposite sign could easily see that relationship off. If that’s the case, you might be scared to let go of the relationship, even though you know it’s for the best.

On the one hand, clinging on won’t help matters, while on the other, it ain’t over til it’s over. But Saturn isn’t just a big demolishing machine. If your relationship is strong and good, his presence in your solar love zone could be what you need to make a commitment to your beloved, because Saturn is all about doing the distance. He is also responsibilities and now as he goes across the part of your skies which is opposite your Sun, you may feel you are being asked to grow up. Is that a bad thing? Of course, staying young and carefree has its place, but Saturn asks us to at least allow the adult part of us some quality time most days. He sometimes will throw obstacles and hurdles in our way.

These come in the form of challenges, self-doubt or fear. For many of you this year, that will be about issues in your love life. If you feel that there’s not enough love to go around, hang in there. If you’re in a relationship that is being tested, think cooly and logically, but not coldly.

What you are creating now could be something enduring and strong. Saturn won’t teach you lessons you don’t need to learn and the problems he causes will highlight flaws that need to be given some attention.

He can, and sometimes does, cause people to be a little inhibited though, so guard against that. This is a good time to tap into your drive to succeed, so don’t sequester yourself away more than you need to.

And finally, for a bit of astro-cliché…Saturn in your love zone this year could see some of you falling in love with your boss, lecturer, a policeman/woman, a judge or a historian or someone much older or younger than you. All very Saturnian figures!

BUT LIFE SHOULD START TO MAKE MORE SENSE…

Also this month, we have the end of the current Mercury retrograde cycle which has been going on since early April. It started in the sign of Taurus and has reversed back into the sign of Aries, where it finishes on May 4 (May the 4th be with you!)

As regular readers will know, the start and the end of a Mercury retrograde cycle are the strongest. So there could be some madness around the end of the cycle now. If life is a bit haywire or old issues come up to be dealt with, the most important thing you can do is to keep smiling as you sort your way through things.

Here’s some info for your sign about what the end of the Mercury retrograde cycle means for you:

Hallelujah! After last month’s retrograde, communications planet Mercury is now resuming normal transmission and going forwards again… This means the atmosphere is about to be less confusing. For you, Mercury has been going backwards in your ELEVENTH HOUSE of friends. If you’ve been having hassles with your mates over the past few weeks, now you know why! When Mercury’s going backwards here, it can sometimes almost feel like people are trying to misunderstand you! This weekend, as Mercury changes directions, you can expect (or at least allow for the possibility) one last blast of mayhem in the Friends Department. If and when it comes, try to stay cool because after that, life really will flow more easily.

MORE HOT MERCURY INFO
Note that there are some ‘hot’ Mercury days after the end of the Mercury retrograde. This info applies to all the signs.

• May 10 – Mercury connects with change-maker Uranus. Something which felt stuck could start to move again
• May 11 – a great day to make a deal ahead of the Mercury/Saturn link in the wee small hours of May 12
• May 15 – if something feels fated today, it probably is
• May 16 – fyi Mercury moves back into Taurus today so whatever you have been waiting for could finally come about soon…

HEALING

As the month progresses, we get into easier territory. May 19 in particular could see a healing following any Chiron-related upsets from the start of the month (see the top of this post for more info about that).

But the biggest astrological event of the month has to be the super power Saturn/Uranus connection on May 19. This is a time when hard work you have been putting into something could suddenly pay off and turn things around for you.

The changes are most likely to come in the part of your chart where Uranus currently is. For you as a Gemini this is in your 11th house, related to friends; networks; social circles; hopes and wishes. There could be some very big changes in that department!

LOVE ALERT

Also note that May brings one of the two potentially most loved-up moments we get each year in terms of action between the lots of planet, Jupiter, and the love planet, Venus. They connect on May 20 very early in the morning, making May 19 the night of nights for love and romance in May, no matter which sign you are.

However also notice that this astro event – more technically known as a Venus/Jupiter opposition – can also ask these questions:
1. How much love is too much love?
2. Are you loving too much?
3. Are you spending too much?
4. Are you being over the top when it comes to love or money?
5. Are you loving someone or smothering them?

Given that the Venus/Jupiter action is happening hot off the heels of the Venus retrograde, though, hopefully we will get the Venus joy and delights and pleasure rather than the Jupiter excess. (For super Astro fiends: If you have been paying attention to the Venus retrograde cycle, which was all about exes and values and thinking both, note that May 8 is the official end of the end of the cycle.)

SHINING YOUR LIGHT

Meanwhile, on May 21, the Sun moves into the sign of Gemini.

The Sun acts a spotlight as it moves around our horoscopes so here is what the Sun in Gemini means for YOU:
The Sun moves back into your sign this week after an absence of 12 months. If you’ve been feeling like you’re coming to the end of your tether, you should start to feel like you’re regaining your grip. You can also expect to get a lot more attention than you’ve had in recent times. How you feel about taking centre stage for a while? People are going to be checking you out, so do all you can to shine! This is your recharge month. If you need to come across as confident, you have the skies totally on your side now, supporting you. Try not to be too self-centred – though it is tempting at this time of the year!

WHERE’S THE MOON?

Plus of course we have the New and the Full Moon this month – no eclipses but still very good chances to work with the lunar energies.
(For Rescu readers who like to work with the Moon and live in Sydney, I am doing a workshop on May 28 in Bondi – you can click here for the details!)

Here are the Full and New Moon times for May:

Full Moon at 21 Scorpio
SYDNEY: May 11, 7.42am
NEW YORK: May 10, 5.42pm
LONDON: May 10, 10.42pm

What it means for your sign:
Now is the moment to take a good long hard look at yourself and where you are self-sabotaging yourself. If you know you are clinging to unhealthy habits (eg: smoking) which are doing you no good physically, now is the perfect time to give that habit away. If it’s some other unhealthy behaviour which is scuppering you again and again – eg: acting jealous, drinking too much – again this is the ideal time to bin the behaviour. If you’ve recently reformed (eg: started exercising properly) this is the time recommit to your new regimes. Meanwhile an important work project could come to fruition now.

New Moon at 5 Gemini
SYDNEY: May 26, 5.44am
NEW YORK: May 25, 3.44pm
LONDON: May 25, 8.44pm

What it means for your sign:
The New Moon is taking place in your sign this month, which is big news for you. It essentially offers you the chance to start again in any part of your life where you know it’s needed. If you’re really happy with the way things are going for you, it’s just an energy recharge which will help to propel you all the way through the coming 12 months towards your birthday. If you want to change the way others see you, the coming four weeks are the time to work on that. Ditto if you want to do something to change your basic appearance!

SUMMING UP

Could it be that all your hard work is starting to pay off? Yes it could. It’s all go. The brakes are off. You know what to do. The accelerator of the zodiac, Mars, is in your sign and urging you to go faster. Plus you get the New Moon in Gemini this month. All in all you’re being propelled forwards.
