Welcome to the last month of the year!

Backwards and forwards questions about where to live, who to live with, and other domestic matters, should ease up. Mercury is ending his retrograde cycle in your Home and Family Zone so anything related to your private life should soon start to make more sense. With celestial action galore in your Fun Zone it looks like a great silly season.

Mercury’s movements

The month starts with Mercury retrograding back into Scorpio

As regular readers will know, Mercury retrograde started on November 17. (It began the day after Venus retrograde finished!)

As November begins, Mercury is in the sign of Scorpio but on December 1, retrogrades further back into the previous sign of Sagittarius. So wherever you have Sagittarius in your chart (we all have all 12 signs of the zodiac in our chart) is where you are getting a second chance.

Then at the end of the first week, Mercury retrograde ends

Note that on December 7 (December 6 in the northern hemisphere) Mercury retrograde finally comes to an end, for this cycle. So that’s the good news for anyone who has been waiting for this cycle to conclude.

But not so fast! It’s important to allow a few days to pass before you start to consider Mercury retrograde well and truly over. In fact some purists say that Mercury retrograde isn’t over until Mercury has gone beyond the point where it was when it started to retrograde. In this case, that point is 13 Sadge. That actually won’t happen until Christmas Day! More about this next month.

Here is where Mercury is for you as the month opens.

Think about what it means for you on as deep a level as you can. (Read your Rising Sign if you know it, for even more accurate guidance). (If you don’t know your Rising Sign but you would like to, you can do your chart for free here)

Your Home Zone – for some, this is going to give you the chance to literally go home. If you’ve been abroad for sometime, for example, it could be now that you pack your backpack up and head for wherever Home is for you. For others it’s going to be a case of getting some kind of Blast From Your Past. Look at the memories which are being stirred up now and see how past events are effecting your life today. Mercury going through this part of your chart can bring back people and memories from your past which need to be dealt with. Sort through the old stuff now so you can get to the new. Don’t cling to old ideas which are no longer valid. Allow your new Inner Self to emerge. Spending more time with your family than you’ve spent with them in ages is also a likely manifestation of this reverse cycle for you. There is a chance to catch up on family news like you haven’t done in ages, so slot some Quality Parental Time into your diary now. Do be aware of the miscommunications and mix-up which is more likely during this time and be gentle as you sort through any dramas.

Remember that Mercury is the planet of the mind, so it’s time for you to have a last final think about something and then as the retrograde ends, allow some time to pass. Expect the info you need to make a decision to come to you – consciously create it.

In a completely different way, Venus also enters Scorpio.

Venus will be moving forwards as She moves into the sign of Scorpio. Venus is the Goddess of the skies. Venus is the feminine principle, in a different way than the Moon is all about the feminine. The third part of the trilogy in Black Moon Lilleth, but She’s another story.
Venus in Scorpio could be seen as “the angry beauty”. If you want to apply a Goddess energy, you couldn’t really go past Kali, the blue-faced, blood-thirsty and scary Goddess. Kali is Shakti in radiant warrior form.

On a more earthly level, Venus in Scorpio is a time when love can get down and dirty, in an underhand or a sexy way. Your call. Sort of depends on who you love, right?

Here’s where Venus in Scorpio is for you:

Venus is now moving through your fourth house of home and family. This marks the start of a relatively quiet time when you’re far more likely to be found happily ensconced at home than out on the town. Book your calendar up over the next four weeks so that you get to spend plenty of time chez toi, either with a loved one, friends or family, or at least a couple of DVDs and a loving cat. Venus here in this part of your chart is less visible than she is in other sectors. If you want to take time out from the hustle and bustle, do so. You have the skies on your side. It’s clichéd but true – home really is where the heart is for you now. You can expect to feel quite peaceful over the next few weeks – what you’ll want is to proceed quietly, surrounded (if possible) only by people you love. You only get this chance to reconnect with this side of yourself once a year, so make the most of it. If you’re thinking of doing up your home, renovating or decorating, you have the stars totally on your side.
Earlier this year, Venus went backwards – reversing as she does about once every 18 months. It’s all part of a new cycle which began at the last Venus retrograde in the sign of Aries 18 months before that.

Life goes in cycles! That’s on thing astrology teaches us.

There’s isn’t a lot happening the skies this month compared to recently. There have been so many big planetary changes affecting us all one way or another recently. Last month alone we had the move of lucky Jupiter into Sagittarius which is hopefully going to help deliver us all a happy silly season and into next year.

Where The Sun Is Shining

The next big planetary move of December is the Sun into the sign of Capricorn. You can think of the Sun as a sort of spotlight and whenever it changes signs, as it does once a month, it shines a spotlight on a different part of your chart. For example, it could be on your Love Zone or your Career Zone. Here’s where the spotlight is for you for December (and always is!)

It’s all very well coasting along and hoping that life will fall into place, but as the Sun moves into your 6th house, it’s time to think about the structure of your days. What responsibilities do you have which you just can’t be lax about and is your life organised in such a way so that you can get all that you need to get done, done. Think about your routines – are they helping or hindering you. This is also the start of a four week period when you would do well to look at your health – not because you are going to get sick but because it’s the ideal moment to make sure you’re looking after yourself. Finally, it’s a month-long cycle where you need to think less about how to serve your own needs and more about how to help others.

The Sun in Capricorn of course goes with the end of the year and covers Christmas Day. (If Jesus really was born on December 25, he was a Capricorn not a Pisces, as people often assume, since Pisces is the super-spiritual sign and the mystical last sign of the zodiac.)

And speaking of Christmas Day…

The lead up to Christmas is bound to be a bit weird. There is a strange Mercury square to Neptune which could mean some confusion around —- everything! Given the recent Mercury retrograde, it could be “mystery solved” for some people, but most likely it will just be oddness in the air, which thankfully clears before Christmas lunch, pretty much no matter where you live in the world.

We will be in the waning cycle of the Moon, which is more of a yin time. In the northern hemisphere, it will be time to hunker down during the dark months, in the southern hemisphere, time to unfurl from the year.

The good news is that the first planetary alignment after Christmas Day is between Venus and Pluto and it’s harmonious. So there will be deep love, passion, good hotness, deep pockets and let’s say it again, deep love, in the air this Christmas. Boxing Day parties should be fun!

Where’s the Moon?

The New Moon this month takes place in the middle of Sagittarius and on December 7. A New Moon is always a new start – a fresh slate – so here is where it’s happening for you (remember to read your Rising Sign if you know it!)

Welcome to the House of Fun! Have you been having a bit of that lately? If not, then the skies are strongly suggesting to you that it’s time to get out and do a little bit of what you fancy! There’s a new start possible for you now re romance, creativity and kids, as the New Moon takes place this month. Could you use a restart re re romance, creativity and kids? Identify which one(s) you want to work on and draw up an action plan. What could you do to inch closer to what you want? Remember, the law of attraction means we can’t get what we want until we know what we want.

The Full Moon will take place on December 23, the day before Christmas Eve. Click here for the times around the world. As it’s the last Full Moon of the year it’s really the ULTIMATE month of the year to do your Full Moon forgiveness.

More and more people are talking about how it’s so important to acknowledge the Dark Side (and we are not talking Star Wars). It’s our shadow side that Freud and Jung spoke about. I can’t pretend to know about them but I do know that basically forgiveness is THE KEY.

Here’s the thing … forgiveness cuts right to the heart of any matter, of any upset or karmic anything. Because it’s all about karma. Once we forgive OURSELVES and other people, we are basically clearer conscious creators. If we don’t forgive ourselves, we feel we are “not good enough” or “not worth”. We are all learning lessons all the time. So use this mighty end of year Full Moon and forgive yourself and anyone you can, in all directions of time, as I sometimes say.

Here’s a short Forgiveness Formula from my book Moonology.

Read it to yourself or out loud, alone or with friends around the time of the Full Moon when your emotions will be really close to the surface.

On the night of the Full Moon…

‘Under the glorious Full Moon, I forgive everything, everyone, every experience, every memory of the past or present that needs forgiveness. I forgive positively everyone. I also forgive myself of past mistakes. The Universe is love, and I am forgiven and governed by love alone. Love is now adjusting my life. Realizing this, I abide in peace.’

It’s so important at the end of the year, to wrap things up as much as you can. Some people are able to go to sleep and forgive and get over it (mostly they seem to be men!) If you can’t, use this last Full Moon of the year to forgive someone one from your heart. Imagine them in your mind’s eye and send them loving pink mist. You can’t imagine how much this can help! Anyone who has upset you and of no one has upset you, just send love to friends and family in your mind’s eye and from your heart.

If you want to go the whole hog, do some writing:
– Journal about it
– Write about it on your own personal blog if you have one
– Post something on Facebook
– Write a “Letter to 2018” and say what you think
– Do a gratitude list

A gratitude list?

A gratitude list is a list of – you guessed it – everything you are grateful for from 2019. Still want more? If you are seriously about consciously creating your life in 2019, make a Wish List for 2019. Write down your top ten goals, personal and professional.

What to do with the list? You can burn the list, or read it out loud at midnight as the New Year comes in and keep it where you will see it throughout 2019. Your choice. There are no rights and wrongs. In theory you are less attached if you burn it but my logical brain loves to see the lists later, when so much of them has manifested!

Have a wonderful end of the year and if I may be permitted to remind you, I have created the most gorgeous little 2019 Moonology Diary. It’s written for Australian, the UK and USA – you can find out about it here

Order before January 1 and you’ll get my New Moon Creative Visualisation meditation which you can listen to at every New Moon of 2019 and beyond!

Lastly, remember; forgiveness and gratitude. Put them on your New Year’s resolution list if you make one.
