Are you one of the Taureans with “a book in you”? If so, then this month’s move of Jupiter and the eclipse in your 9th House suggest that 2020 could be off the scale for you. Get published! Also amazing if you want travel, teach, study or go on a Great Cosmic Quest. Legal matters also look promising for you now.
Now is the time of year to wrap things up, release what you need to and replace it with gratitude, before ushering in the New Year.
Some years it feels like there is more to be grateful for than others but there is always something!
This month I would like to offer you a simple 3-step ritual for releasing 2019 and welcoming 2020. It’s a powerful process.
If you’re into astrology and the mysteries of the Universe, it’s one you should try IMHO.
This is the last month of 2019 and 2020 is looking pretty promising astrologically-speaking, so harness the energies!
It seems to me that the world is evolving, and all we humans are evolving as well. We are all starting to see how important it is to live intentionally and consciously. If you’ve ever stopped to ask yourself what it actually means to live intentionally and consciously, well this kind of thing is a part of it.
It means taking a moment to think about what you want; for yourself and for the highest good of the people you love and the planet.
Writing down what you want turns out to be a magical technique. I’ve wondered if it’s because it takes the idea out of our brain and actually puts it into 3D on a piece of paper – where it can start to manifest for real.
Just for the record, Boxing Day this year brings a New Moon eclipse. More about that below but it does make December 26 a very good time for doing this “work”. New Moons are always about starts and a New Moon eclipse is that plus plus. Add to this mix the fact that the collective, people all over the world, are intent on leaving the past behind, making a new start, filled to the brim with hopes and expectations, and you have a heady atmosphere to tap into.
2020 is going to be a massive year with the most epic astrology we’ve had for a long time. Not least because the year starts off with a completely epic Saturn/Pluto alignment and ends with astrology the likes of which we haven’t seen for 615 years!
If you’re into manifesting, 2002 will be the year to get your conscious creation on. So you want to use this month, December, to clear out the past. If you don’t clear out the past, you will stay stuck in the past. However we create the future from the present. So you need to be here now. Get it?
The astrology of December 2019…
So now that you know how to get your energy balance for the end of the year, what does this month hold?
There are two major headlines …
Where you’re getting lucky
On December 2, the planet of good luck and good times changes signs…
The biggest news in the first half of the month is that the planet of good luck and good fortune, Jupiter, is changing signs. This is massive news because Jupiter only changes signs once a year, and when it does, it changes our luck as well.
For the past 12 months or so, Jupiter has been in the sign of Sagittarius. This has been particularly good news for anyone who is Sagittarius or Sagittarius rising, Gemini or Gemini rising. Hopefully you felt that even if life has been tough, it wasn’t too hard to see the bright side. In many ways, that’s what Jupiter is; the bright side planet.
Jupiter helps us stay optimistic and positive. And if you know anything about the law of attraction, you know how crucial it is to expect good things. It’s like Oprah Winfrey says, “the more you praise and celebrate your life, the more you have to praise and celebrate”.
Jupiter helps us to see the good in everything, and for that reason, he brings us more and more good happiness. Because whatever we focus on is what we get – so the more we connect with Jupiter, the more we can connect with happiness and reasons to be cheerful.
With Jupiter active now, it’s easier to focus on where we feel lucky. (Just as a side note, that’s why the gratitude list I’ve recommended above works. Because it focuses our minds on the positive!)
So this month, we get Jupiter changing signs. For most of next year, we are going to have Jupiter in the sign of Capricorn.
What it means for us all
From my free Jupiter Report: Jupiter is the lucky planet; the planet that puts good fortune in our path, the shows us that confident goes hand in hand with good things happening, the mighty planet that allows us to see the big picture and to believe that anything is possible! It is like nothing else in the planetary pantheon, that’s for sure. It’s all about positivity and good news. As the arguably most respected astrologer in the world, Robert Hand, put it… there is no such thing as a bad Jupiter transit – in other words, where Jupiter goes, only good things follow, even if sometimes there’s a tinge of lessons being learned, chaos, confusion and/or detoxing taking place, for example (when Jupiter triggers Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and/or Pluto).
What it means for your sign (read your Rising sign if you know it)
If you’re already feeling a growing yearning to do some travelling or studying, then you’re already feeling the presence of Jupiter who is in your 9th House. For others, it’s going to be all about teaching and/or getting published. The 9th House is the part of your chart where you see the wider world (as opposed to focusing on your own backyard). Jupiter is the expansive planet. Put them together and over the coming year, you have a great chance to broaden your understanding of the world. It’s like your understanding of life is expanding.
The aspects Jupiter is making this month:
December 9 brings a clash with Chiron the wounded healer.
Imagine having a magical good luck stick and everything you touch with it became luckier. That’s kind of like Jupiter. So even if Jupiter is clashing with Pluto or squaring Saturn, you still have the Jupiter magic around the situation.
In this light, then, take a look at what’s happening with Jupiter and Chiron this month.
Chiron is the wound healer and sometimes, when it’s triggered, it can be extremely painful. In this case, Jupiter in Capricorn is squaring Chiron in Aries. So anyone who is Capricorn or Capricorn rising or Aries or Aries rising could expect to be in the firing line.
However, it’s all modified by the fact that Jupiter is the lucky planet of good things. So in fact, even though there could be some hurting and wounding going on, probably on an emotional level, overall, it should have a reasonable outcome.
Pay attention in the first 10 days of the month and see how you feel.
Often with Chiron, what happens is that someone pushes you as far as you can go. Your boundaries are tested. How much are you willing to put up with? See if issues around this come up for you now.
The middle of the month, December 15 to be exact, brings a marvellous alignment between Jupiter and the planet of change in chaos, Uranus. They are in a harmonious alignment, so whatever happens next should be pretty positive.
This alignment is not to be under estimated. Just to reiterate; Jupiter is the planet of good luck and good fortune. It’s making a harmonious aspect to the planet Uranua, the planet that’s all about shocks and surprises, about taking us forward into the future, radical turnarounds and big change. Uranus is also about waking up and being liberated.
There is a lot to love about this Jupiter/Uranus aspect which will affect us all. This is the only Jupiter/Uranus aspect we have had since 2015 and we won’t get another one until 2028.
The way to harness this is to think of the end of December as a time where you can make big changes in your life. All you need to do in advance is decide what changes you want to make.
Any changes you make now should turn out for the best. It’s definitely worth doing a ceremony on December 15 to harness these energies. Try:
1. Roll out your yoga mat if you have one
2. Ring some bells if you have some or put on some uplifting music such as Deva Premal or Edo and Jo.
3. Put a few drops of a high quality essential oil on your palm and inhale
4. Write in your journal about the changes your want to make in your life
5. Draw an Oracle card to see where you’re being guided in terms of making these changes
To find out where the energies are taking place in your chart, please read on. Remember to read your Rising Sign if you know it, for a more accurate forecast.
So as you have probably heard by now, this is one of the most liberating times of your life! No kidding. The planet of revolution and rebellion, Uranus, is blazing its way through your sign like a massive bolt of electricity that leaves every hair on your body standing on end. So what do you have to look forward to? Well, change, awakenings and liberation, to name three things. It might be a bumpy ride but the shackles are falling away.
And then there’s an eclipse

All about eclipses …
Apparently 2019 thought it would end on a dramatic note. On December 25, aka Boxing Day to those who celebrate Christmas, we get a New Moon eclipse in the sign of Sagittarius.
Normally with eclipses, there are plenty of reasons to be cautious. Even though astrologers no longer fear them as we used to back in the day, (when we didn’t understand them), they are still pretty intense times.
I call them “when the universe changes gears”, which gives you an idea of what they feel like. In other words, you’re cruising through life, and suddenly you change gears. Sometimes you go up a gear and sometimes you go down a gear. Sometimes the gear change is clunky and sometimes there is a lot of nasty noise.
That’s basically eclipses for you. Your life can change gears.
This one is taking place in Capricorn, in the same place as the very happy planet of all good things, you guessed it; Jupiter.
In other words, this eclipse is a pretty flashy way to finish the year off.
Use it to set some powerful New Moon intentions for 2020 and be sure to join me for my Facebook live which I’ll be doing . You can find out the details of that on http://www.moonmessages.com/fbevents
Wherever Capricorn is in your chart is where there is a lot of power. We all have Capricorn somewhere in our chart. Here’s a rundown:
Aries – your Work Zone
Taurus – your Travel, Adventure and Study Zone
Gemini – your Sex & Money Zone
Moonchild – your Love Zone
Leo – your Daily Life Zone
Virgo – your Fun Zone
Libra – your Home Zone
Scorpio – your Mind Zone
Sagittarius – your Cash Zone
Capricorn – your Appearance Zone
Aquarius – your Zone of Secrets and Spirituality
Pisces – your Friendship Zone
Wherever you have Capricorn there has likely been lots of intensity and it’s not over year. But hopefully it will feel lighter and as though there is a new start at last.
This isn’t just because of the New Moon this week, but because mega-planets Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto are also there.
Remember that Capricorn is all about strategizing, making plans and commitments, and working out how you’re going to build the life you dream of. We’re all so busy at this time of the year, but wise people will harness this New Moon energy and work out some tactics for 2020. This is a time to be ambitious.
Wherever you have Capricorn in your chart (see above) is where you know that hard work is the way to achieving your long-term goals.
The good news is that, as the year ends, the energy is still quite fluid, so keep on aiming for the changes you want to see in your life. Moreover, there is going to be a real sense of optimism in the air thanks to a great Sun-Jupiter meeting.
Go out of 2019 and into 2020 expecting the best – and you might just get it!

So where is the eclipse for you? Read on …
The coming six months will be all about you expanding your mind and your horizons. If you’ve been feeling trapped by the minutiae of life, that can change now. The New Moon eclipse this week heralds beginnings and opportunities in your Mind Expansion. If what you really want to do is pack your cases and head off into the blue yonder, the Stars are on your side. Ditto if you want to stay where you are but you still want to expand your horizons through study, reading, new ideas, new ventures and new friends. This period is not about getting bogged down in the details, it’s about seeing the big picture of what you want. Go with your heart and explore your options. The coming six months are also very good for you re teaching, study and publishing. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
Also this month – the focus is on …
The Sun spends most of the month in the sign of Sagittarius, which is great to creating an end of year party atmosphere. The Sun shines a spotlight on the various parts of your chart as it moves around the 12 signs of the Zodiac. Here is where it’s brightening things up for you for the first three weeks of this month …
Over the next four weeks, you can expect to feel a whole lot more in touch with your Inner Self. It’s a very good time to look at where you are going and what it is inside you that is leading you there. If you’re confused about why you have chosen your current path, this is the time to stop and think. You may soon be able to change directions. On a less ethereal note, this is also the time to have a look at your finances – what you owe, what you’re saving. Pay off as many debts as you can now – you will be very happy you did so in six months time, as the Sun moves into your other money box.
In love news…
Plus, for the first three weeks of this month, we have the planet Venus, the planet of love and abundance, in the sign of Capricorn. As Venus goes, she’s making some quite interesting connections with other planets. Here is a brief run down.
December 3 – Venus harmonises with the planet Mars. These two are basically the girlfriend and boyfriend of the zodiac. Their connection like this suggests the first week of December is going to be fun for people who are attracted to each other…
December 8 – brings a super romantic link between Venus and the planet of dreams and poetry, Neptune. If you’re wondering which is the most romantic night of the month, December 8th has to be an extremely strong contender.
December 10 – Not so much for December 10, which sees Venus building towards an alignment with the planet of hard times and hard facts, Saturn. This combination could be great for anyone in a serious relationship who wants to get even more committed to their partner. However, there is also a possibility of upsets as people feel there isn’t enough love or money to go around (not true).
December 13 – And just when you thought it was safe to go back into the Venus waters, Venus then meets Pluto. If you’re involved with someone and it’s more like an obsession than a relationship, then you need to watch out. It could blow up around about now. If you’re in a healthy relationship, this alignment could be just what you need to take things even deeper.
December 20 – Venus moves into Aquarius.
December 22 – The first sign Venus makes when she moves into the sign of Aquarius, is a clash with the planet of chaos, Uranus. There is a lot to be happy about this month, but this alignment could be tricky. Venus and Uranus clashing can bring about unwelcome surprises and unexpected turnarounds that don’t go quite the way you would like or expected. Please don’t panic. This is not a massive drama. Compared to, say, Jupiter harmonising with Uranus, it’s a small blip. But it is worth noting. Go easy today.
And here’s the main Venus message for you this month…
Venus is now moving through your ninth house of study, travel and adventure. If you’re about to head off into the wild blue yonder on an adventure, you really do have the stars on your side. Expect excitement, fun and plenty of excellent memories to come home with. If you’re going with a lover, it could be an extremely romantic getaway which teaches you both about each other. If you’re off somewhere as a single and you’re open to meeting someone, that could be exactly what happens. If you’re not going anywhere during this cycle, all is far from lost. Singles could find themselves drawn to someone from out of town now, while couples have a chance to step back from their relationship for a moment, to see the Big Picture of where you’re going and what you’re doing. Be grateful for what you have. The part of your chart being stimulated by Venus is also the part of your chart which broadens your mind. Love, romance, adventure, study and self-improvement will all do that for you, now and over the next four weeks. Foreigners and people recently returned from out of town or overseas should also hold extra interest.
Let’s finish the stars with a reminder about how the Moon will guide you this month, through the Full Moon and then the New Moon eclipse… Have a great month!
Taurus – if you dream of writing, then let’s say it again, start planning now! The eclipse supports you. Ditto if you want to travel, study or teach in 2020. Adventure awaits! This is a super exciting time to be a Taurus (or Taurus Rising). The energies are intense though so remember some self-care! PS Your December Power Date: December 13: delve into your heart today … clear it out for the New Year.
Have a great month!
