So here we go into the New Year! What can we expect?
Let’s start off with some general information for all the Star signs…
The good news is that pretty much no matter what your Star sign, 2016 going to be a whole lot easier than 2012-2015 was.
That’s because those years brought us those terribly pressurising and some would say downright dreadful Uranus/Pluto clashes. And they are now officially over for eons.
Especially affected were Aries, Cancers, Librans and Capricorns (or if you have one of those signs rising…)
WHAT DOES THIS YEAR PROMISE?
2016 will be less about being pushed into a corner by the Universe so that have to take action, and more about making positive life changes.
Arguably the loveliest of the astro-links ahead this year will taking place between Jupiter (positivity) and Pluto (change). So yes, we are onto a much better thing.
Positive change is in the air. That means if you want to do something different, it’s not going to be such a struggle!
Here is a quick rundown re where you can expect change to flow more easily. Read your sign or your Rising sign if you know it!
Aries – changes can flow at work
Taurus – study and/or travel will be life-changing
Gemini – overall positive changes can flow re sex and money
Cancer – your love life can be transformed in a good way
Leo – overall positive changes can flow at when it comes to your daily life
Virgo – overall positive changes will be connected to romance, creativity and kids (your own or someone else’s)
Libra – overall positive changes can flow at home and re family
Scorpio – you will realise that you are creating your life with your thoughts!
Sagittarius – overall positive changes are the expected financially
Capricorn – your whole life is ripe for positive changes in 2016!
Aquarius – blast through your fears and your life will be even more amazing
Pisces – your friendships are going to be even more powerful this year
So will 2016 be 100% smooth sailing? Of course not! However there will be less of a crushing imperative that feels like do or die… and that has to be a good thing!
What’s really a stand out this year is that a lot of the big, outer, slow-moving planets are connecting in way that will allow us mere mortals here on earth to stride towards our goals.
STAND OUT DATES
Every year brings some super peak dates of the year which affect us all no matter what our star signs. These are the dates for 2016 and very much worth noting in your diary!

* These two dates are quite mysterious as they suggest very positive change and yet many of us reading this will be taking a day off and relaxing with family and/or friends. So what can it mean? My best bet is that these dates augur very well for better family relations OR for projects you’ve worked hard on throughout the year somehow paying off during the holiday season. LOOKING AT THE MAJOR TRENDS FOR THE YEAR AHEAD…
When we look at the major trends for the year ahead, the first thing is to see what lucky Jupiter is up to.
This is the planet that helps make life easier. And this year, the lucky planet is in Virgo for most of the year (until September).
As a Libra – how lucky will you be this year?
Even if you don’t currently think of yourself as ‘the Spiritual type’, Jupiter’s stay to your 12th House for most of 2016, starting now, could see that changing, dramatically even. Under this once-every-12-years transit, people who’ve never so much as said “Ohm” have found themselves taking up meditation and – hey presto! – suddenly being introduced to their Higher Self. No kidding.
If you’ve read enough about Angels to start to get curious about what it all means, Jupiter will bring singing choirs of them into your life, if you but seek a little bit. Your 12th House is the deepest, darkest part of your chart, and Jupiter is one of the most ebullient, noisy planets.
You might think that the two don’t go well together but in fact having Jupiter arrive in your 12th House is a bit like having happy, screaming kids running through a cellar, throwing open doors that have been locked for years. And I do mean, years. Jupiter here can lighten you load, even if you’d rather be alone more often than usual.
The 12th House is where you contemplate your fears – Jupiter laughs in the face of fears and if nothing else, will help you confront those scary ideas that have been plaguing on and off for years. Just finally, remember that this part of your chart is where you keep the Things You Don’t Like To Talk About.
Jupiter is the planet of plenty and could see you developing quite a swag of secrets. Fine. Just be careful about what you keep hidden! It may not stay hidden forever… and the guilt that often goes with secrets ruins what can otherwise be a positive time for you.
HOW HARD WILL YOU HAVE TO WORK?
Of course taskmaster Saturn is still out there and circling the zodiac so there are still lessons to be learned by all of us.
Knowing where Saturn will be for you throughout 2016 is actually really, really worthwhile!
Saturn is the planet that makes us work hard but he is also the planet that helps us to make our dreams real.
For you as a Libra…
This year, Saturn is still hanging out in your communications zone. Put that together and of course it means there are lessons about communications coming your way. This relates to what you say and how you say it, and also covers the way you think as well as the way you listen. Let’s begin with that last one.
Learning how to listen is a very important lesson this year. It’s not that you’re necessarily not a good listener, but listening to the information you’re receiving in a constructive and mature way is an excellent goal this year. If you think you’re way too old to have to worry about maturity, perhaps your lesson this year is of a different nature. Perhaps you need to loosen up your ways of communicating.
There is no denying that Saturn is a restrictive planet so for some of you, this year’s lesson will be about finding the inner strength to speak up for yourself. Others will need to learn how to handle the new responsibilities they are given—and that will include learning how to be a boss. If you find yourself at loggerheads with various kinds of authority this year—from parents to teachers to corporate execs—you may be getting lessons about how to communicate with ‘superiors’ in a constructive way.
This is also a good year to streamline your thought processes and to look at ways to order your ideas. However, also check to see that you are not immovable in your ways of thinking—avoid rigid thinking now. So what good are all these lessons about communications which Saturn is handing out? This is the end of a three-year cycle and this period is about preparing for the next cycle when you will start to move out of your local environment and into a wider sphere.
The one thing you should do this year is keep your spirits up. Saturn in your mind zone can sometimes lead to sombre and serious thoughts. Look for the levity in all your situations and be honest with yourself if you know your mind is filled more with fear than facts.
