Forget model-of-the-moment, British beauty Kate Moss has been turning heads for over twenty years now and is undoubtedly one of the most iconic models of all time.

Moss made her debut in a 1993 Calvin Klein advertisement at the tender age of 19, and became an overnight success, going on to become one of the most photographed celebrities in the world not only in her modelling career, but also for her personal life. Most notably, the star attracted much paparazzi attention in the early days because of her relationship with Johnny Depp who arguably played a part in catapulting her into fame. Watch the two in an interview from 1995 on UK morning show The Big Breakfast below.
Rumour has it that after the above appearance, Johnny’s agent told Kate she should stop giving interviews to create more of an air of mystery around her; advice the model clearly took to heart as we’ve hardly heard a peep out of her since! One thing Moss did turn up for was the 1998 fashion documentary Beautopia in which she discusses life in the public eye. Watch an excerpt below.
And as we know all too well, no icon is complete without a few scandals to their name. One of the biggest for Kate was the legendary cocaine incident of 2005 that led to her being dropped by brands like Burberry, Chanel and H&M. The star was caught on camera allegedly using the drug sending her longtime agent and the woman who discovered her in JFK, Sarah Doukas, into a spiral of damage control.
Amid the scandal, Alexander McQueen showed a hologram of Kate inside a glass pyramid at the end of his A/W Paris 2006 show before stepping out to take a bow with the words ‘We Love You, Kate!’ emblazoned across his t-shirt. Watch the video below.
All the sweet-talking by Doukas combined with McQueen’s legendary stunt managed to land the star with all her clients back on board, and her earnings doubled.
Since then, the waif-like star has married The Kills Jamie Hince in a wedding that boho-dreams are made of, walked the closing ceremony catwalk for the London Olympics, been on the cover of Playboy, was named the fourth highest paid model in the world and so much more.
