Kristen Stewart For Chanel: Gritty Glam Or Cowboy Chic?
Kristen Stewart is the new face of Chanel – and her campaign images just leaked.
The images popped up on in Instagram – of course – and now the fashion world is buzzing: is this K.Stew’s big fashion moment? Or is she let down by Karl Lagerfeld’s Western mania?
The indistinct pictures show Kristen lounging on bare wood in the Texas-inspired Chanel Couture collection that Karl showed in Dallas last year.
At the time the fashion world thought it was mad and charming – but the campaign marks Chanel’s attempt to make it actually sellable.
Stewart is decked out in cowboy boots, cornrows, fringe, leather and all manner of Daniel Boone-inspired gear.
In one shot she wears a lamé shirt tied at the waist with gigantic sheep-wool sleeves.
She herself looks great – we predict braids and dark eyeliner are going to be in for autumn/winter – but are the clothes too costume-inspired to sell?
What do you think: chic or too cowboy?

Pharrell Williams Goes Sporty With Adidas
Cue the ‘Get Lucky’ puns: Pharrell Williams is releasing a collaboration with Adidas.
The big-hatted star, whose hit ‘Happy’ was nominated for an Oscar this year, will release the range in a few months.
And it’s not only fashion-forward, it’s eco-friendly.
Adidas Originals is using Pharrell’s company Bionic Yarn, which recycles international plastic waste collected from the ocean.
Bionic Yarn turns the waste, which is collected by The Vortex Project, into yarn and fabrics, and Adidas will transform the material into street-fresh products.
As yet, we don’t know what’s going to be on sale – only a teaser video has been released, featuring Williams in customised Stan Smith sneakers walking in reverse to pick up his now-famous Vivienne Westwood hat.
But Pharrell himself has said that he loves the brand’s iconic shoes.
“From the classic track suit, to growing up in Virginia wearing Stan Smiths, Adidas has been a staple in my life,” he told the press. “Their pieces are timeless.”
Will you be buying some green Pharrell Williams kit for dancing?

Diane von Furstenberg Gets Reality Show
Ever wanted to be a Diane von Furstenberg brand ambassador?
E! Television in the US has just announced that there will be eight hungry young people competing to do just that.
67-year-old Diane von Furstenberg will be the centre of a new docu-series about her attempts to find a ‘Global Fashion Ambassador’.
What will the role involve? We’re not sure.
E! says the show, which will follow DVF herself and the competitors as they vie for the job, will be about ‘the relationships between an ultra-successful boss who controls the fashion world and her eight eager-to-please associates-in-training’.
And the winner will be ‘an integral part of all major DVF divisions’, travelling the world for the DVF brand – ‘if she makes all the right moves.’
It sounds like the fashion world’s version of The Apprentice. We like.
No news yet on how the show will be structured, but it’s apparently designed to end at next year’s New York Fashion Week, rather like Project Runway in the US.
Would you watch eight interns competing to be a DVF ambassador, or turn off immediately?
