Inspiration from the pacific ocean breathed into the 26,000 square foot studio with guests including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Chrissy Teigen, Nicole Richie, Abigail Spencer, and Derek Blasberg celebrating La Mer’s 50 years of global heritage and healing in the brand’s birthplace of California.
Estée Lauder Companies Inc. group president John Demsey gushed with gratitude over the love from his celebrity supporters. “(Hudson, Richie and Paltrow) love our product and they use our product…To start from one product and to become the leading skincare luxury brand in the world, it’s an amazing story.”
The brand was created by an aerospace physicist Dr. Max Huber in California 50 years ago, when he employed sea kelp to create a cream to restore the skin he’d burned during a laboratory accident.
Acclaimed Los Angeles artists and musicians treated guests to special performances within sea-inspired installations.

Guests descended under the sea for an enchanting night of spectacular experiences. Mesmerising mermaids swam throughout the room while guests enjoyed a ride on bespoke retro-carousal seahorses. The evening also featured the premiere of The Dr. Max Huber Story, a short film that transported guests into the world of La Mer’s founding scientist.
