What can you learn from missing a loved one? When you see someone everyday or have been around them for a long time, it Is easy to get complacent about having them in your life.
But imagine if they were gone? What would you miss about them? Coping with loss is a great reminder of the wonderful things that the person brings to your world and most of the time these things become apparent when they are absent from our lives.
You know how it goes: you go away for a few weeks and all of a sudden realise that the things you found annoying about your best friend/ partner/ brother are some of the very things you miss and appreciate about them.
Strange but true – you ‘realise what you have when it is gone’!
Feelings of loss are a great way to learn to be grateful for what we have right here, right now.
Death is a bit of a different story as we cant bring people back. We can however honour their place in our lives by doing everything we can to move forward.
Acknowledging that we miss people gives us personal power. It is honest to feel your feelings. It is the quickest way to get where you want to go. Being away from our ‘comfort people’ gives us an opportunity to grow and get to know who we are!
It is an opportunity for you to witness the things about yourself that people love, the qualities that make you, you!
And you are loved, by your friends and family, the people around you, If you weren’t here, you would be missed.
Blessings,
Bella.
