Amid the flurry of news surrounding Mariah Carey and James Packer’s blossoming romance came news of another sort from a pop star. Madonna is set to tour Australia for the first time in 23 years, and to visit New Zealand for the first time ever.
That’s right, the 56-year-old queen of reinvention is making her way to our shores as a part of her Rebel Heart Tour. Kicking off in Auckland in early March 2016, the tour will continue through Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane with two dates in each city.
Desperate to secure a ticket? Read on.
Super-keen fans who will spare no expense to secure a front row seat may have to fork out a bit of cash to get there. The most Important of the Very Important will be up for $1999.00 for an Ultimate Front Row VIP package which allows you access to a pre-show soiree and an exclusive Madonna tour gift with, of course, front row seats for the show. Second up is the $1499.00 Living For Love VIP Package and, finally, there’s the $1099.00 Heart Stage VIP Party Package which guarantees you a seat in the first six rows around the Heart Stage.
If your fandom sits at more of a, let’s say, normal level, you can choose from tickets ranging from the Platinum $499 seating right down to the Bronze $99 seating and there are plenty of pre-sale opportunities available.
Anyone who has been a part of Madonna’s official fan club, Icon, for some time will receive first access to tickets and VIP packaging tomorrow Tuesday 23rd June at 10am. If you’ve registered before June 15th 2015, you will receive a special code to access Icon pre-sales beginning on June 23rd at 12 noon.
Telstra Thanks will also be offering fans a chance to jump the queue through a pre-sale starting next Tuesday June 30th at 11am while Citi Cardholders will be get their shot at pre-sale on Wednesday 24th June at 10am, and My Live Nation members will have the chance to access pre-sale tickets from Friday July 3rd at 10am.
The rest of us will just have to wait until the public release of tickets through Live Nation at 10am on the 6th of July 2015.
The tour follows the release of the star’s 13th album, Rebel Heart, which debuted at number one in Australia a week after its release, marking her 11th album on the Australian ARIA Charts and trying the record for the most number one albums on the chart.
Just last week, Madge released Bitch I’m Madonna — an EP featuring 10 remixes from the album — as well as a video clip for the song of the same name which featured a slew of massive stars including Kanye West, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Rita Ora, Beyoncé and more. Watch the clip below.
