Controversy has surrounded My Kitchen Rules this week, after contestants Helena and Vikki Moursellas posted friendly photos with on-screen rivals Chloe and Kelly over the weekend. Whilst My Kitchen Rules has been portraying the two teams as serious enemies for months now, evidence suggests that this may not be true.
On Wednesday morning, Helena and Vikki appeared on Sunrise to defend the legitimacy of their rivalry. The pair say that they met up with Chloe James and Kelly Ramsay when the teams were both in Sydney on the weekend, and caught up for a drink, but that the claws are still out.
‘The rivalry’s still on, trust me,’ said Vikki. ‘Look we were out for a couple of drinks for some work and yeah you know we had some drinks and took some photos.’
One look at the photographs, which appeared on social media before being quickly deleted, draws serious question to the twins’ claim. The four girls appear to be having a ball as they hug and snap selfies together, the picture of friendship.
The four ate dinner at Manu Fieldel’s Le Grand Cirque and there is no visible tension in the images which appear relaxed and familiar.
My Kitchen Rules is still in full swing, with no official finale date having been announced yet. Should Chloe and Kelly come up against Helena and Vikki in the finale the show would score incredible ratings. That is, unless fans have lost faith in the reality of the show’s team rivalry all together.
