If you love decadent fabrics, playing ladies and anything vintage, pay a visit to Mrs. Press’ Dressing Room. Clare Press (a.k.a. Mrs. Press) left her post as features director of Vogue to become a designer of all things satin and silk. And doesn’t it just goes to show where a bit of ladylike manners will get you; her biased cut camisoles and silk dresses have hit a high note amongst the fashion crowd.
Mrs. Press is stocked in boutiques around the country, but this is the first time the 50s inspired label has had a shop front. Decadently ladylike and just a bit quirky, the just-opened Mrs. Press’ Dressing Room is located in Sydney’s Darlinghurst, 136a Darlinghurst Road, and it’s akin to stepping inside a jewellery box.
Filled with hand-picked vintage pieces, the famed Mrs. Press silk camisoles, frocks and silk knickers, and hats designed by Lil Jen, this is one shop you won’t be able to leave in a hurry. But don’t worry, that’s just the way Mrs Press wants you to feel – as she says, she “likes to entertain”.
Make sure you stock up on the luxurious new range of Mrs. Press candles while you’re there – they’re just the thing to relax beside, while lounging about in satin slips and silk knickers. For more information call: (02) 9331 7732.
