Nikki Phillips knows beauty. The gorgeous model, TV media personality and blogger has worked with many of the best makeup artists in the country, and does her own makeup with enough flair as to make any girl envious. In this week’s Beauty Bubble, Michael Brown sat down with Nikki to chat about her favourite beauty tricks and the products she just loves.
Nikki Phillips starts with skincare, but keeps her routine very simple – adapting to her specific skin concerns on any given day. ‘I’m actually a firm believer in less is best for me,’ she says. ‘That’s the key, is to find what’s best for your skin.’
The ‘less is best’ mantra continues through to Nikki’s off-duty beauty look. ‘My job has so much put on my face, three different makeup looks a day, so when I’m at home I literally take it off with makeup wipes and that’s about it. It would literally be a really good moisturiser, and that’s what works best for my skin.’
Too add a pop of colour, Nikki turns to her trusty lipstick. ‘My look on the go is quite simple, I’m all about a lip. A bold lip can really transform a look, and give a lot of colour to your face.’
‘I’ve always been a firm believer that ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder,’ says Nikki Phillips. ‘I think it comes from inside… I think confidence is a big thing for beauty, I don’t think it’s a visual thing on the outside, I think it really does come from the inside.’
But there’s one last stop before Nikki leaves the house – a spritz of fragrance. Her current favourite is Roses de Chloé (‘I’m so obsessed, it’s so feminine!’), but Nikki Phillips doesn’t like to commit to a signature scent, saying, ‘It’s like having the same hair colour for the rest of your life, I can’t do it.’ Roses De Chloé ($80 – $140) is available at Myer, David Jones, selected perfumeries and pharmacies.
