Prince Harry in Sydney
Everyone’s favourite ‘playboy Prince’ is preparing for a whirlwind trip to Sydney for this weekend’s International Fleet Review. Naturally, much is being made his 24 hours in Sydney with a day packed full of appearances. So where can you spot our favourite raven-haired royal? Read on…
It is expected that upon landing in Sydney, Harry will immediately report for duties relating to the Fleet Review, inspecting the some 40 war ships that will gather at Sydney’s harbor.
Fairfax Media are reporting that after these more official proceedings, the Prince has requested to have, “some level of public interaction” and will thus be doing some sort of walk-through in the city. Rumour has it Sydney Opera House was originally going to be the site for a bit of a meet-and-greet, but has now been reevaluated, leaving both Mrs Macquarie’s chair and the Rocks in consideration, with Buckingham Palace having final approval.
Following this, Harry will be headed to Kirribilli House for a Saturday afternoon soiree with Tony Abbott, his two of his now-famous daughters, and a hand-picked list of young Australians.
While UK reports confirm that this will be about it for the Prince, there is some speculation that he may also spend some time socialising. After all, his latest squeeze, model Cressida Bonas, once waited tables at Mrs Sippy and thus has a huge circle of Aussie friends who we’re sure would be ready to party with a Prince.
Good luck playing ‘Where’s Harry?’ this weekend ladies and send us a tweet if you spot him!
Michael Jackson Trial Verdict
After nearly five months of testimony from dozens of witnesses, including Prince and Paris Jackson and Deborah Rowe, a jury made up of six men and six women has determined that AEG Live was not liable in the 2009 death of Michael Jackson.
Katherine Jackson had alleged that Michael Jackson’s tour promoter AEG Live, her son’s tour promoter, was responsible for her son’s death by negligently hiring Dr Conrad Murray to oversee his medical care without proper vetting. The Jackson family wanted AEG Lives to pay $US85 million to each of the star’s three children for emotional loss in addition to an estimated $1.6 billion for economic losses.
Following three days of jury deliberations, it was determined while AEG did hire Murray, the doctor was not incompetent and that AEG Live cannot be held responsible for the untimely death.
The defendants lead attorney, Marvin Putnam, said of the verdict, “The jury’s decision completely vindicates AEG Live, confirming what we have known from the start – that although Michael Jackson’s death was a terrible tradgedy, it was not a tradgedy of AEG Live’s making. There was simply no evidence that anyone at AEG did anything wrong. The win was a great victory for [AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips] in particular, who was personally sued by the Jacksons.”
A representative for the family said that neither Katherine nor Joe Jackson would be commenting. Taj Jackson, the son of Michael’s brother Tito, tweeted, “Thank you guys for all your support. Unfortuantely there will be no closure for my family #bigmoneywinsagain AEG.”
Beyonce’s Prom Photo Released
With teams of stylists on board to dress them, we can’t help but wonder whether our favourite celebrities really do have impeccable taste, or if it’s all down to the team of professionals.
When it comes to Beyonce, we’ve always suspected the former, and now with an photo from the Knowles household archives having been leaked to the world, our suspicions have been proved true.
The proof, as they say, is in the prom dress. Forget frothy pink frocks and curls so tight they look painful, Bey’s prom outfit included an inspired dress with cutouts and a thigh-split that wouldn’t be out of place on today’s runways, along with perfect curls and barely-there makeup.
And her prom date? None other than ex-boyfriend Lyndall Locke who recently spoke to The Sun and confessed that he cheated on Bey after nine years together! What an error that was…
