Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has just been announced as UGG’s First Global Women’s Brand Ambassador.
The 28-year-old supermodel’s partnership will begin with an Autumn 2016 campaign featuring the iconic Classic Boot reimagined with a range of new features, launching globally in August 2016.
Rescu. spoke with Alice Hampton, Senior Director of Global PR, UGG, about the upcoming campaign and working with Rosie as their first ever global ambassador.
RESCU: Why was Rosie selected as the face?
Alice Hampton: UGG® is a brand we know our consumers have a deep, emotional connection to and so for us it is not just about signing a beautiful model, it is imperative we work with someone who embodies that same feeling of warmth and connection that is such an integral part of our brand DNA. As an internationally accomplished model and actress Rosie is obviously stunningly beautiful however more than that, and I truly mean this, is her inner beauty; her warmth, her wit, her humor but most of all her personality… to me she embodies what it means to be a modern day classic beauty in that she can bridge both high fashion yet also more accessible, more attainable casual luxury.
RESCU: What was your experience like working with her?
Alice Hampton: Rosie is a dream to work with this is very much a partnership in all essence of the word she has been involved in every aspect of the creative thus far, we could not be more happy welcoming her into the UGG® family.
RESCU: What upcoming projects that you can talk to us about?
Alice Hampton: This year will mark a big year for the brand as we have some exciting launches and announcements in the pipeline the campaign with Rosie being just one, although I can’t give too much away we listened to what our consumers want and are working hard on delivering their expectations. I think it is fair to say consumers around the world are going to experience the brand in a way they have never seen it before; needless to say it is a very exciting time to be at UGG®.

They’re the first thing I put on in the morning I wear them when I am walking my dogs on the beach, when I am on holiday, when I am traveling or shopping… I travel a lot so I take them with me wherever I go.
