That post-first-date conversation, the job opportunity, the second-before-they-jumped-on-a-plane goodbye — we’ve all missed an important call at some point in our lives. But all of that pales in comparison to the missed call story Sophie Monk shared on air this morning.
On the 2Day FM breakfast show, the Aussie babe disclosed that she once missed a phone call from Woody Allen and wasn’t able to get back in touch with him because of an agonizingly dead phone.
When she finally did reach him, Allen informed that he had already cast Scarlett Johansson in the film he had been approaching her for, the Golden Globe winning Vicki Cristina Barcelona.
Monk told her co-hosts Jules Lund and Merrick Watts, “I could be a massive movie star right now… Woody Allen was ringing me for a film. Not kidding you. He thought that I was a bit Nicole Kidman – obviously he watched me with the sound down in a movie.”
It goes without saying that could have been the career-defining role for 34-year-old Monk, and she was understandable devastated to have missed it. We think she’s definitely still in for a chance at major Hollywood stardom – bring on that next big director phone call!
What do you think, would Sophie have made the perfect Vicki?
