The Sydney Film Festival runs from the 8th – 19th June, offering 244 film screenings, in addition to all the other events that complete the Festival – from the closing night Gala to the Awards & Jury, the selection of opportunity to immerse in Sydney’s biggest film festival is extensive.

The festival is not limited to film viewings, presenting a number of awards throughout the festival. The Sydney Film Festival rewards excellence in Australian documentary filmmaking, the Dendy Awards for Australian Short Films, the Event Cinemas Australian Short Screenplay Awards, and the inaugural UNESCO Sydney City of Film Award. These awards are presented throughout the festival to reflect the commitment to quality cinema in Australia.
