The Pacific Pearl, Pacific Jewel and Pacific Dawn escorted into port new sister ships Pacific Eden and Pacific Aria. These ships will be party central tonight with 9,000 passengers on-board who will be treated to special concerts by some of Australia’s best performers including Jessica Mauboy, The Veronicas, Samantha Jade, Justice Crew and Stan Walker.
Jessica Mauboy and Kate Richie took part in the official naming of the ships and live tweeted the ships’ blessing before blue and silver flares and ship horns marked their official naming. Jessica Mauboy also gave a beautiful performance singing the national anthem for the event.
“It’s quite an incredible honour,” Mauboy said.
There will be a spectacular display of fireworks in Sydney Harbour at 9pm tonight to finish the celebrations.
