If there’s one thing we love as much as a classic, it’s a classic reinvented. And even better, is a classic reinvented with a purpose.

Last night, the iconic Bentwood chair was star of the show at the launch of the second Take A Seat for Legacy charity event, held by online home-wares site Temple and Webster.
The event showcased 37 chairs, each lovingly re-interpreted by a selection of Australia’s most-loved personalities from the realms of television, radio, sport, design and interiors. A truly eclectic bunch perfect for creating a personal style.
The result was a collection of highly unique, detailed and humourous designs that simply need to be seen to be believed! There was chain mail, a basketball, rhinestones, feathers, wings and chairs that, well, just no longer looked like chairs! And that is just the beginning..
The exhibition, which is now open to the public, has been created to raise awareness and support for Legacy Australia and the very important work they do with the families of deceased and incapacitated Australian soldiers.
The most exciting news is that you can actually own one of these jaw-dropping chairs. A live online auction commenced at 7pm last night and will run until 11pm on Thursday, 30th October October. It’s a reverse-auction, which means the price of the item automatically decreases every 20 minutes, until someone snaps it up! One bid and it’s yours! All proceeds will go to Legacy Australia.
