After months of sweat and tears, The Biggest Loser has come to a close, with Craig triumphantly taking out the ultimate title. Craig Booby will go home with a whopping $75,000 prize after losing an incredible 43.51% of his total body weight.
Craig started out the series as the heaviest male contestant, weighing 183.4 kilograms, and left The Biggest Loser finale last night 79.8 kilograms lighter than his starting weight. Beating incredible odds, he faced gruelling challenges and personal demons to come out the series champion.
‘I’ve got a lot more confidence than I’ve ever had,’ said Booby at the end of the series. ‘Before I was always self-conscious and worried about how people saw me. Now I’m going out there proud of who I am and what I’ve achieved.’
‘I think that will help me meet someone and start a family, for sure,’ said Craig, who will leave the show looking for love, and hopes to establish a more positive lifestyle than the one he entered the series with.
Despite the incredible success stories of contestants like Craig, The Biggest Loser has struggled with ratings this season, failing to compete against Australian TV heavyweights The Block and My Kitchen Rules. Channel 10 is yet to commit to another series of the show, which may see Craig as the series’ final winner.
‘Craig was the definition of hard work,’ said Steve ‘Commando’ Willis on Craig’s efforts on The Biggest Loser. ‘From the moment he entered The Biggest Loser house he gave it his all.’
‘I constantly encouraged him to strive for more and dig deeper to be the best possible version of himself.’
