New York Fashion Week has just come to a close, and while it was impressive to see the array of talented designers showcasing their Spring/Summer collections, it was also just as interesting to see who was sitting front row. These days, trends are made both on and off the catwalk, with celebrities becoming important players in the fashion game. Luckily for us, there were many famous faces on hand to keep us busy looking at photos and Rescu. has complied a list of the most stylish ones.
With the status of models always rising, it was common to see the long legged beauties sitting front row rather than walking down the catwalk – Dree Hemingway made an appearance at many shows while Coco Rocha and Australian model Jess Hart also stopped by to catch some shows. All of the editors were out and about, with Carine Roitfeld and Anna Wintour looking fierce as always.
Diane Kruger has gained a reputation as being super stylish, so it was no surprise seeing her lovely face around town, while Emma Roberts, Sarah Jessica Parker and Alexis Bledel (of Gilmore Girls fame) all made appearances. The cast of Gossip Girl were pretty much a permanent fixture on the NYFW scene, with Leighton Meester and Jessica Szohr attending numerous shows. And as always, the it-girls were out in force, with Alexa Chung flying in to attend, as well as attend the opening of her new collection for Madewell, as well as Olivia Palermo, Rachel Bilson and Nicky Hilton looking fabulous and on trend.
One event that threatened to overshadow NYFW was Fashion Night Out, with Vogue editor Anna Wintour organising the second annual event with much success. Erin Wasson and Pamela Love were out promoting their new jewellery ranges, while it wasn’t unusual to walk past famous models like Jess Stam and Lou Doillon in the street. Naomi Campbell had a little boogie while Nicole Richie and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen all tried their hands at karaoke.
However it seemed like the place to be was SoHo, with Rachel Zoe almost causing a riot and the re-opening of the Chanel store, which saw Karl Lagerfeld attend alongside Abbey Lee Kershaw, Blake Lively, Alexa Chung plus many more.
With fashion month well and truly in swing, it seems that New York is not only the place to spot on trend fashions on the catwalk, it is also the best hunting ground for your favourite celebrities while they have fun in the city that never sleeps.
