To Mask or not to Mask? In my opinion, it is the best way to boost your daily skincare routine.
No matter how good your daily products are, sometimes – when we’ve had a big night out, feeling fatigued, looking a little dull, or just generally dehydrated and need to feel fresh again –we need that little extra helping hand.
A mask is just that, it adds a little boost and is usually highly concentrated so you can see instant results. It is also a great prep for a big event when you want to be sure you are looking your best.
My tip: use a mask the same day as you exfoliate. It will ensure your skin is smooth and able to accept the product. It’s like an at-home mini facial!
These masks are catching my eye;
The Pore Refiner – Kora Organics Clay Purifying Mask
It ‘s always good to have a clay mask in your bathroom cupboard for that little extra deep cleanse of the pores.
Clay will set on the area applied and as it dries it draws out impurities within the pore to refine and purify, ultimately making them look less visible.
Your skin feels clean, fresh and smooth, with unclogged pores.
These masks are great for weekly use for oily combination skin, but my advice is to only apply where needed and not the entire face – you don’t want to dry out an area where there is no need for this deep cleanse, the T-Zone would be my main focus area, especially across the nose.
Leave on until clay sets – approximately ten minutes and rinse with warm water.

The Anti-oxidant Booster – Dermalogica Age Smart Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque

You might need a little recovery session with this multivitamin, anti-oxidant booster, it really is that little ‘pick me up’ that can get you looking your best and fast.
A mask like this one relieves stressed, tired and lacklustre skin. It calms and soothes, but also replenishes dehydrated skin and with Vitamins A, C and E it’s a great repair product for ageing skin.
Use once a week for a boost or when needed and leave on for 10-15 mins, then rinse off with warm water.

The Plumper – Clinique Even Better Brightening Moisture Mask
Who doesn’t love that feeling of freshly moisturized skin?
You feel fresh, smooth, but how supple does your skin look? Well this mask will be a concentrated version of that when you need it the most and Even Better; it adds luminosity to your skin for a brighter, more transparent complexion, with moisture – what a great under makeup mask for a special event!
Apply to face and after 15mins if any residue is left, tissue away and continue with your routine.
RRP $52
Let there be Bright – Shiseido White Lucent Power Brightening Mask
Now this is a mask with a difference and no it won’t ‘whiten’ your skin, do not be alarmed. White meaning adding light and transparency to a skin suffering from age/dark spots – too much melanin that has now come to the surface from previous sun exposure.
Dark spots can deepen in colour, so it is important to address them at first sight.
This ‘sheet’ style mask adheres to the facial contours, locking in powerful ingredients that can reach the inner layers of the skin where the roots of dark spots occur, stopping them in their tracks.
Your skin is left clearer and more even toned – use once or twice a week for best results at reducing these dark spots on the skin.
RRP $99 (6 Sheets)
The Mini Facial – Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Boosting 5-Minute Facial
This is the ultimate pampering, 2 step at-home facial, consisting of a luxurious Foaming Mask and Replenishing Serum, both products working together to treat and brighten the skin – dullness is one of the key reasons we use a mask, to boost and nourish.
While the foaming mask concentrates on cell turnover and detoxifying the skins surface, the serum features ceramide triple complex, working on reinforcing the skins protective barrier, enhancing moisturisation and soothing sensitive skin.
This mask ticks so many boxes and all in 5 mins for smoother skin!
