RESCU: What do you love doing on the weekends?
I love Body by Simone – it’s a bit of a trek to West Hollywood so I make a weekly pilgrimage! I also love hiking with my kids, going for long bike rides with my husband and kids up to Manhattan Beach or Pacific Palisades and also going to the Sunday Farmers Market in Brentwood.
RESCU: Where do you always take visitors to LA?
I always take visitors to Abbot Kinney, for a drive from Brentwood to Beverly Hills and for a hike. People are always so surprised (as was I!) about how much nature and open space there is in LA.
RESCU: What is your favourite iconic LA restaurant?
I love Gjelina in Venice, the ultimate in healthy hipster food and Nobu in Malibu for a true LA experience and celeb spotting.
RESCU: What is the best workout in LA?
There are so many choices!!
For outdoor workouts you can’t beat a hike. For dance cardio, I love body by Simone, for Spinning, SoulCycle, for Boxing, BoxNBurn and for Megaformer Pilates, Studio MDR.
RESCU: What is your favourite cheap eat in LA?
Mexican! There are so many great Mexican restaurants around LA and all the produce is local, fresh and absolutely delicious – Blue Plate Taco is one of my favourites.
RESCU: Best place for a glamorous night out?
Soho House – The interior and exterior are just beautiful. It is such a great place to be! They also do a delicious black truffle with goat cheese pizza and pretty great guacamole. And don’t pass on the cocktails – the Honeycomb Ginger Cocktail is amazing.
RESCU: Best thing to do for under $50?
Take an Uber to Runyon Canyon for a hike with a green juice after at Erewhon. The Runyon Canyon hike is great if you want to do a bit of celeb spotting and get a workout in at the same time! You can also see all the trails so it’s a bit of an adventure trying to get from one to the other. You are also close to West Hollywood, which has great juice bars and cafes so you can grab a juice or smoothie afterwards.
RESCU: Best luxury shopping destination?
Rodeo Drive. With all of the top designers this is a one-stop shop for anything luxurious. Melrose Ave. is also great!
RESCU: Best place to nab a bargain?
American Eagle has such a great laid-back American vibe and the sell cute basics that you can pair with tights and a great jacket. They also have great denim.
RESCU: Where to get a feel for local life?
Brentwood Farmers Market – this is the place to be on a Sunday and with deliciously fresh produce, it is the perfect place to pick up your fruit and veggies for the week.
