Venus is the planet of love and for most of February; she will be in arguably the most romantic sign, Pisces.
Astrologer, Yasmin Boland says you may have heard about retrogrades – in other words, planet appear to go backwards in the skies from time to time. Mercury retrograde is the best known of these. When this happens, there is a tendency to go over old ground in areas governed by the planets concerned, depending on which sign they are appearing to reverse it. It’s a time of looking backwards, recovering old ground and sometimes doing things again and getting into mix ups.

But this month? No retrograde planets at all. Not a one! That’s quite unusual and coupled with the New Moon eclipse/new start further suggests that February is a time for moving forwards.
SPEAKING OF MERCURY – WHERE’S YOUR MIND AT?
Mercury will spend the first part of February in Aquarius, furthering the feeling of the cool and detached energy. So what does that mean for you?
If you don’t have a dream, how you gonna make a dream come true? As they asked many moon ago, in that lovely old song. Your dreams and goals, what you wish for yourself and your goals – all of these are to be highlighted from today onwards for the next few weeks.
Now is the time to think about your expectations. Are you hoping and wishing for something which is starting to seem like it’s really never going to happen? Is there anything you can do, a last ditch effort, to try to turn things around your way? And if not, is there any point clinging on to this dream or is there perhaps some other channel you can put your energies into? Or perhaps all is not lost and there is someone you know – socially, or through another network – who can help you? Think about it. This is most definitely the time to be considering the people around you that you’re somehow hooked up to. It’s also a good time to be assessing if your dreams and goals are your own or the result of peer pressure.
AND FINALLY … VALENTINE’S NIGHT?
If you’re hoping someone is going to put a ring on it, it’s really not out of the question that Valentines Day could be the day (or night). Here’s why:
1. The most obvious – Valentine’s day and night are probably the nights of the year with the most marriage proposals.
2. This year, Venus, the planet of Valentines, and love, will be connecting to the planet Saturn, the planet of marriage contracts, just after February 14.
3. The eclipse will make people do things they didn’t even mean to do!
The good news is that the afore-mentioned Venus/Saturn link suggests that even if someone is being very spontaneous on V-Day with their declaration of love or even marriage, chances are they will make good on their promises. Venus and Saturn speak of love that goes the long-haul, it’s all about the long-term and about commitment. So even if you’re not feeling all that romantic, V-Day could surprise you. And if you’re single on February 14, the stars are great from going out with other single pals.
