In a week of shock reality TV results, X Factor standout Reigan Derry was voted off the show last night, leaving Brothers 3, Marlissa Punzalan and Dean Ray to face off in the 2014 X Factor Grand Final.
The trio go through to next week’s season final after Reigan Derry was voted off the show last night.
“I’m so proud of myself for what I have achieved,” Derry said.“I’m happy I got to do it all.”
Derry, 25, was mentored by judge Redfoo who told viewers, “I’m still in shock. She is the best artist I’ve ever worked with in my life. I just don’t understand how this could happen. I feel crazy right now. It has been a wonderful journey and I know for a fact she is going to be a superstar.”
Derry told Redfoo, “I could never imagine what you’ve shown me and what you’ve given me. These are life lessons. I really feel like you have changed me and turned me into a stronger person.”
Reigan had some of the most standout performances of the singing contest and her departure encouraged many fans to take to social media to announce their disappointment in the decision.
Brothers 3 were the first to be announced safe which was a surprise to many after they received less than enthusiastic comments from the judges on Sunday night.
The favourite looks to be Dean Ray, who was the only contestant who received standing ovations from all of the judges in both his performances the night before. Even though he had been in the bottom 2 the previous week, his popularity earned him a spot in the final.
