The Alex Perry show was a spectacular spectactular and a true indication of what it takes to make it in the fickle fashion business.
The maestro of glamour didn’t disappoint the double packed out shows (RSFF had to put on two back to back Alex Perry shows as the first sold out in minutes) with a signature mix of incredible evening wear, sexy dresses, resort and even some bridal couture.
Models looked like Amazonian goddesses in their Perry transformation with signature bouncy ponytails created by Redken hair team headed up by the super talented Maria Ardino, smokey eyes and nude lip combo by MAC Cosmetics, and in our opinion, the best selection of models seen all week.
Standouts from the show include the excellent and thoroughly wearable collection of Little Black Dresses, which having owned several Perry models over the years I can assure our readers will NEVER go out of style. Alex simply cuts to accentuate every curve and flatter what you’ve got.
The sequined and ruffled evening options made us yearn for a comeback of fashionable parties, flowing champagne and dancing on tables St. Tropez style.
Having just returned from three weeks in Greece, Alex Perry looked relaxed, sun kissed and in his element as Perry girls as young as 8-years-old paid homage to him backstage, and even photographers were lining up to get a picture with him.
Perry’s front row was filled with ladies who lunch and celebrities including Alex’s good friends Tara Moss and Charlotte Dawson. Perry also bravely included last season’s Australia’s Next Top Model winner, Tahnee Atkinson, in his show line-up and drew applause for sending her down the runway in a curve-accentuating sequined micro-mini dress.
The pumping music (including Thriller in the finale) made for a high impact and high energy finish to what was Rescu’s favourite and highlight show of the week. Nothing like a strong dose of glamour to give us a perky smile after a long week of fashion!
