Here’s what you need to know about the latest Apple smartphone. The new series includes the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max and a smaller iPhone mini. They all come equipped with 5G capability which means they have faster connections than ever before.

The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Prox Max include LiDAR (Light Detection and ranging) Scanner which means better picture quality. Apple’s proud boast is the new models are the best devices for augmented reality (AR) experiences.
The major design change is the squared-off edges which is a marked change from the rounded edges we’ve had since the iPhone 6. So, you might take a while to get used to the flatter edge. It’s also thinner than the iPhone 11 models.
This year’s iPhones include no EarPods or power adapter in the box, so there’s a new, more environmentally friendly box that’s slimmer than the prior boxes. There’s the phone itself, a Lightning to USB-C cable, a few small regulatory booklets, an Apple sticker, and a SIM ejection tool.
The new more environmental packaging is all part of Apple’s commitment to be 100 per cent carbon neutral by 2030.
