Today we’re focusing on enhancing your natural beauty every day, from every angle. In the age of social media and selfies you want to look your best. Contouring doesn’t have to just be for a special occasion or big night out. With an easy-to-use, mistake-proof contour kit and a few simple tips you’ll be sculpting those cheekbones like a pro: no star power, banana powder or scary face charts required.
Step 1) Prep
Prep your skin with high-performance skin care. Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape+Fill Expert Serum adds instant radiance to your skin, as well as improving the natural dimension of your skin over time.
You only need two pumps!
I like to warm it up in my hands and press it onto the skin.
Step 2) Contour
Estée Lauder’s New Dimension Shape+Sculpt Kit is amazing. This all-in-one duo with two super-blendable gel cremes (one to shade, the other to illuminate) makes contouring quick and mistake-proof. Apply the darker shade directly under the cheekbone so we can really see that line and create the look of depth.
Now the brush! Blend naturally into the skin along the bone line – you can use the sponge in the kit, or a synthetic bristle brush. A clean foundation brush is perfect.
Michael Brown Pro Tip: For a more natural look use the kit before applying foundation. For a more defined and sculpted look, use the kit after your foundation. The contour shade is sheer, universal and buildable, so you can add more as desired for a stronger contour look.
Step 3) Highlight
Now, highlight above the contour you have created to draw light onto the skin and enhance the cheekbone. Apply a little of the highlighting creme onto the top of the cheekbone with fingertips, patting, pressing and rolling to blend the product. You can see the glow instantly!
Michael Brown Pro Tip: I also like to highlight down the centre of the brow and the Cupid’s bow of the lip to give a bit of extra light to the face, for that true sculpted look.
Contouring the Eyes
Sculpting isn’t just for cheekbones. Adding depth and dimension can help enhance the natural shape of the eyes as well, so they look bigger, brighter and more defined.
Estée Lauder’s 3-step New Dimension Eye Shape+Sculpt Eye Kit is amazing for the eye area, and this is our focus for anti-ageing!
First, the Smoothing Base Primer creates the perfect canvas.
Next apply the soft sable shading powder to the socket area with a clean concealer brush to enhance the hollow which will really lift and sculpt the socket bone.
Finally, using the other side of the brush apply the highlighter on the brow bone to get a lift and illuminate. We can also highlight the inner part of the eye and the mobile lid to create extra light and movement.
To complete your best angle it’s nice to add a pop of colour to the lips. Any contour is then lifted, it’s fresh, and your look is ready to go.
Michael Brown Pro Tip: Always use the highlight shade on the top of the bone to create a lift, then use the darker shade under the bone too
