1. The Mind and Body Detox
Diffuse 2 drops each of the detoxifying properties of Lemongrass, ginger, lemon and bergamot to stimulate the digestive process first thing in the morning.
Tip: This blend will also détox the mind and body and can be used to help unwind at the end of a busy day.
2. The detox Body Scrub:
Combine 2 drops each of the purifying properties of Cypress, Grapefruit and Neroli in 2 tbsp of jojoba carrier oil, add salt or sugar and mix into paste before hitting the shower.
Tip: Wet your body and then in circular motion apply mixture to limbs for a deep cleansing effect which is moisturising at the same time. The results are glistening!
3. Lemon and Bergamot Facial Steam:
Deep clean the skin, especially if you have blemishes. Reduce inflammation and calm the senses at the same time by adding 2 drops of each into a bowl of steaming water and cover your head with a towel allowing the steam to act on the face for 5 minutes before washing face with cool water and pat dry.
Tip: An at-home facial steam is an easy and inexpensive technique to add to your weekly skincare routine. The application of warm steam to your skin opens up pores, and the sharp and citrus notes of Lemon and Bergamot assists in clearing the skin from acne, warts, and excess oil.
4.Geranium and Cypress Cellulite Compress
This is a gentle tonic for dry, damaged skin. Add 2 drops each of the diuretic properties of cypress and geranium to 1 tbsp of sweet almond oil then add to a bowl of warm water. Soak a facecloth and squeeze out excess before applying to the areas of concern. Leave on for 10 minutes then refresh face cloth and apply once more.
Tip: This combination of essential oils can also be added to a relaxing bath or mixed with carrier oil and massaged directly into the affected areas. Cypress is a powerful essential oil that will flush the body of toxins, reduce fluid retention, and improve circulation. Meanwhile the versatile oil of Geranium boosts circulation and the lymphatic system, as well as eliminating toxins.
5. Lymphatic Drainage Massage:
Add 5 drops each of Grapefruit, Rosemary and Black Pepper to 2 tbsp of jojoba for the ultimate lymphatic cleanse. These oils are renowned for encouraging removal of toxins and help combat water retention. Gently massage into the skin in an upward circular motion at least twice a week to note results.
Tip: Grapefruit’s uplifting aroma inspires movement within the body and has an affinity for detoxifying and decongesting, therefore promoting free lymph circulation.
Caution: However, remember to stay out of direct sunlight 12 hours after applying citrus oils to the skin. Not for use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
6. Digest + Lymph Boost:
Stimulate your digestive and lymphatic system by experiencing the powerful healing benefits of pure essential oils. Add 3 drops each of grapefruit, lime and peppermint plus 1 drop of ginger to 1-2 tablespoons of coconut base carrier oil. Gently massage over the abdomen area. The oils are absorbed into the body via the hair follicles to promote improved digestion and rid the body of unwanted toxins.
Tip: When applied on the lower back area, the ginger component of this blend stimulates the large intestine and bowel movement to speed up digestion.
